Traditional services
You may want more control.
For families receiving services through an agency-based provider.
What families often want
More choice, stronger caregiver relationships, and a provider built around the participant.
More choice. Better support for caregivers. Less administrative burden for families.
Whether your services are traditionally managed or self-directed, Clairo Care was built to put participants and the people providing their care first.
Built around your care team.
The people who know the participant best should be at the center of care.
Different models. Different challenges.
Maryland families receive DDA services in different ways. The challenges aren't always the same — and neither should the conversation be.
One model built differently
Clairo is a Maryland DDA provider agency designed to combine professional administrative support with more choice, flexibility, and caregiver focus.
Bring caregivers who already know and understand the participant, including qualified family and friends when permitted.
Our low-overhead model is designed to direct more of the available service funding toward the people actually providing care.
Clairo manages hiring, payroll, training, billing, compliance, and provider administration so families don't have to.
The goal isn't to tell families which model is better.
It's to give families another provider option that puts the participant, the caregiver relationship, and quality of care first.

Trusted relationships matter
A participant shouldn't have to give up trusted relationships just because an agency is providing the service.
Clairo is built to make it easier for participants to receive support from people who already understand their routines, preferences, communication, and goals.

Frequently asked questions
Is Clairo a traditional provider or Self-Directed Services?
Clairo is a provider agency for the services Clairo delivers. Our model is designed to preserve many of the things families value — caregiver choice, strong compensation, flexibility, and participant involvement — while Clairo handles provider administration.
Can my current caregiver work through Clairo?
Often, existing caregivers can apply to become Clairo employees, subject to service requirements, qualifications, onboarding, and the participant's individual circumstances.
Do I have to leave SDS completely to use Clairo?
Not necessarily. Depending on the participant's plan, services, authorizations, and DDA requirements, selected services may be delivered by Clairo while other applicable services remain self-directed.
Does Clairo handle payroll and compliance?
For services delivered by Clairo, Clairo handles its associated employment, payroll, training, billing, compliance, and provider responsibilities.
